TLIF0080 – Implement and monitor the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility)

Australian Onsite Training now offers the Nationally Accredited Unit of Competency  TLIF0080 – Implement and monitor the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility)  released in July 2024. This unit supersedes, TLIF0014 – Monitor the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility)

We are currently offering two ‘face-to-face’ modes of delivery- onsite at your workplace or via our digital learning platform.

Our digital learning platform still allows for training in real time with trainer and trainees communicating directly during the session.

The latest Nationally Recognised Unit of Competency, TLIF0080, includes the latest skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor the safety of ‘transport activities’ and applying chain of responsibility obligations as defined by  the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) or applicable State/Territory law and regulations.

This Chain of Responsibility course provides you with the skills and knowledge required to:

  • Identify, apply and follow chain of responsibility (CoR) legislation, regulations and workplace procedures in relation to heavy vehicles as they apply to an individual’s own job role.
  • Provides to opportunity to ask questions specific to your job role / business / industry or circumstance.
  • Complete safety documentation of identified transport activities.
  • Implement relevant risk control measures and report actions taken to relevant person in accordance with workplace procedures.
  • Monitor CoR obligations and compliance under the HVNL.
  • Undertake due diligence activities.

Who should complete this CoR course?

Our Chain of Responsibility course will provide you with a basic understanding of the legal obligations of your job role. For this reason, it is a beneficial course for:

  • Business owners/ Directors
  • Operator/manager/scheduler
  • HSEQ Managers
  • Manufacturers/ primary producers
  • Importers/ exporters

Course Features

Upon successfully completing this latest CoR nationally recognised unit of competency, you will be able to:

  • Understand the CoR obligations of your job role when undertaking ‘transport activities’
  • Explains the steps required to achieve compliance wuth the Heavy Vehicle National Law HVNL or applicable state/territory law and regulations;
  • Explain of the CoR concepts as described in the HVNL such as: shared responsibility, due diligence, transport activities.
  • Identify and report chain of responsibility breaches.
  • Implement and monitor relevant risk control measures and report actions taken.
  • Understand the basic principles of load restraint and how to use the ‘Load Restraint Guide’
  • Understand your obligations under the HVNL in relation to speed, mass, dimensions, load restraint, fatigue and vehicle standards.
  • Undertake due diligence obligations.
  • Monitor CoR compliance in the workplace.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites required to undertake this CoR course. However, prior to enrolment, you will be required to provide your:

  • Unique Student Identifier (USI);
  • Photo identification; and we will need to ensure that you
  • Meet the language, literacy and numeracy requirements.

Duration & Mode

Face-to-Face

Australian Onsite Training’s CoR course, consists of one nationally recognised unit of competency. Because our CoR training is conducted onsite, in a face to face environment, it is delivered in one day. The volume of learning offered by our RTO is appropriate to existing workers, who are currently undertaking ‘transport activities’ i.e. any job functions that entail the decision-making / activities around heavy vehicles.

Digital Learning

Australian Onsite Training’s Digital Learning CoR course, consists of one nationally recognised unit of competency. The training is conducted ‘live’ over a digital platform that allows students to communicate live during the delivery, it is delivered in one day. The volume of learning offered by our RTO is appropriate to existing workers, who are currently undertaking ‘transport activities’ i.e. any job functions that entail the decision-making / activities around heavy vehicles.
